Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will undertake a two-day official visit to the state to inaugurate selected projects and participate in the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.

According to the governor Nasir Idris, the President is expected to be in Kebbi between February 11 and 14 for the commissioning of projects completed by the state government, as well as to attend events marking this year’s Argungu festival.
Nasir Idris disclosed this on Sunday while welcoming defectors from other political parties who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jega Local Government Area.
He called on residents to come out in large numbers to receive the President, adding that while time limitations may not allow for the inauguration of all completed projects, several key projects have been scheduled for commissioning during the visit.
The governor also said the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival is expected to attract participants from across Nigeria and beyond.

Commenting on the recent defections, Idris welcomed the new APC members and assured them of equal treatment within the party.
He added that his administration has carried out several development projects in Jega Local Government Area and would sustain its development efforts across the state.
The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, which began in 1934 as a peace initiative between the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kebbi Kingdom, marks its 61st edition this year, following its postponement in 2025 to allow for infrastructural upgrades.
