Famous rapper Nicki Minaj has alleged that influential figures within the music industry are deliberately making some talented artists “almost invisible” if they do not comply with their rules.
Nicki Minaj claimed that many of the difficulties she and other artistes face in the industry are orchestrated by these unnamed powerful individuals.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, Minaj said these figures treat musicians like “property” used for profit and allegedly frustrate or sabotage those who refuse to work under their conditions.
The rapper also said she has experienced what she described as “constant spiritual warfare” for not conforming to these expectations.
Minaj added that, in hindsight, she would have prepared herself differently, noting that the music industry is more “spiritual” than she initially understood.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I had known earlier that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” she said.
