The Obidient Movement has described Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, as a leader who matches words with action.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, the movement’s National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, said Obi’s performance as former governor of Anambra State demonstrates his commitment to accountability and good governance.
Tanko made the remarks while reacting to Obi’s emergence as the NDC presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
The NDC had on Saturday officially announced Obi as its presidential flagbearer for the 2027 presidential race.

According to Tanko, Obi has consistently shown that he keeps his promises and encourages Nigerians to hold him accountable for his actions.
“Peter Obi is different because he doesn’t just make promises; he fulfils them and wants Nigerians to hold him accountable,” he said.
“His record as governor clearly reflects that commitment. His promise to serve only one term of four years was openly affirmed within the party and documented during the party’s endorsement process, including resolutions on zoning after his tenure.”
He added that Obi’s supporters see the pledge as proof of his dedication to transparency, accountability, and trust in leadership.
Following his emergence as the NDC presidential candidate, Obi also unveiled former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as his running mate for the 2027 election.
