INEC uploads 3,119 of 3,763 Osun election results

Eighty-four percent of the expected results from the Osun State governorship election have been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing portal.

As of 8:06 p.m., the portal showed 3,119 polling unit results (82.89 percent) uploaded out of 3,763, an increase from 2,897 results (76.99 percent) roughly 45 minutes prior.

The most recent upload occurred at 8:00:34 p.m. on Saturday from Polling Unit 29/11/11/009 in Ife North Local Government Area, as collation progressed across the state’s 30 local government areas.

According to PUNCHONLINE, voters and election observers are closely monitoring Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party as he seeks re-election against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress and other candidates on the IReV platform.

INEC introduced the platform to improve transparency in result collation by allowing the public to view polling unit results in real time. Users could refresh the portal to access the latest uploads, while the commission’s Result Stats section displayed updated figures as polling units submitted their results.
