The Kwara high court in Ilorin has sentenced Ajiboye Olayinka, the general overseer of the Mission House of Divine Land of Joy and Prayer Ministry, to life imprisonment for alleged rape of three minors in his church premises.
Trial judge Hammed Gegele found Olayinka guilty on Wednesday of several charges, including unlawful possession of firearms, illegal abortion, and unlawful sexual relations with minors.
According to sources, the judge described the pastor as a “pedophile and philanderer”, who took advantage of religion to manipulate and sexually abuse underage girls in his care.

The judge also said the cleric frequently got some of the victims pregnant and coerced them into ending the pregnancies while threatening to keep it a secret.
According to the judge, the perpetrators threatened the victims with death if they told anyone about the incidents and made them swear Bible-based vows of secrecy.
Judge Gegele further recounted how one of the victims described in court how the pastor used anointing oil as a lubricant to rape her inside the generator house.
Gegele then sentenced the offender to three different terms of life in prison for acts including illegal sex with minors. He also sentenced Olayinka to 14 years imprisonment for carrying out illegal abortions for his victims.
Gegele ordered that the pump action gun recovered from the convict be forfeited to the federal government.
