Anthony Sani, the former secretary general of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has asserted ahead of the general elections in 2027 that the North does not have enough faith in Peter Obi to let him govern Nigeria for just one term. Sani added that Atiku might not have the advantage in zoning politics in his attempt to unseat Tinubu.
Tinubu has a higher chance of winning votes in the North and keeping his mandate in power, according to Sani, who made this observation in an interview with the Daily Post.

When asked his opinion on who may likely pull Buhari’s bloc votes from the North between Tinubu, Atiku, and Peter Obi, he stated that it’s still possible that President Bola Tinubu will win. adding that it is because former President Buhari expressed his disapproval of the coalition and its principles to the country and his followers.
This is due to his dedication to the APC, which earned him two terms as president. Even in death, Buhari’s fans would not want to betray him due to their character.

Sani also added that President Bola Tinubu can still get Northern votes because of Buhari’s supporters who would not like to betray Buhari.
This according to him is because he had told them he was in APC and died in APC.
On the issue of the colaition defeating Tinubu in 2027, he said:

“The opposition may not defeat President Bola Tinubu because the dynamics are not in favor of the coalition. For example, unless President Tinubu does too badly- which I hope not, the North will prefer to let President Bola Tinubu complete the tenure meant for the South. This is because he is the only southerner who has only one term to go.

The North cannot trust Peter Obi that he will do one term. You would recall President Jonathan pledged to do one term but reneged.”
“I have told you the politics do not favor the coalition. Whether the ticket is Atiku/Obi or Atiku/Amaechi, the result will be the same,” he added.
