Amaechi Stands by Decision to Join APC
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has strongly refuted reports circulating on social media suggesting that he regrets joining the All Progressives Congress (APC). The rumors, allegedly based on comments by the APC caretaker committee chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, have been dismissed as fabrications by Amaechi’s close ally, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze.
Eze emphasized that Amaechi has no regrets about his involvement in building the APC into a formidable political force and highlighted that the leadership failures in Nigeria have little to do with the party itself. He noted that Amaechi, like many Nigerians, is more concerned about the ruling class’s insensitivity to the common people’s plight. Eze described the false reports as the work of political charlatans and detractors attempting to tarnish Amaechi’s reputation.
Amaechi himself denied ever making such statements, reiterating his pride in his role in transforming Nigeria’s rail transportation and bringing the APC to power.
