On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Hon. John Ogiri, the national president of the group released a statement to this regard. According to Ogiri, Governor Alia ignored the APC hierarchy in Benue state.
The group said the governor refused to call meetings and ignored the State Executive Committee. Ogiri further said that Governor Alia has been growing party divides by covertly working with Senator Gabriel Suswam and other individuals who oppose party interests in Benue.
He said, “Over the last year, we have noted the Governor’s systemic avoidance of party organs, his alienation of critical stakeholders, and his disturbing silence on persistent and credible imputations concerning his planned defection to then, Social Democratic Party (SDP) but now, African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections,”
