The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has revealed that the ruling party is working closely with the National Assembly to ensure that Nigerians in the diaspora are able to vote during elections.
Ganduje disclosed this while unveiling a new executive committee for the France chapter of the party in Paris on Monday.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje noted that the party would collaborate with other relevant agencies to ensure full political inclusion for Nigerians living abroad.
The statement read, “the party is committed to working with the National Assembly to realise the long-sought goal of diaspora voting, enabling full political inclusion for Nigerians living abroad.”
According to Ganduje who is also a former Kano State governor, the APC was becoming more powerful in Nigeria and emphasizing that its stability has caused a flood of opposition party defections in the run-up to the 2027 elections.

“We appreciate you for holding the banner of our party, expanding its membership, and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in light of the critical reforms he is undertaking.
“There is now more funding for capital development, and both governors and local government chairmen can attest to this,

“There is peace in the APC, unlike in other parties that are battling internal crises. Because of this enabling environment, many are decamping to our party, including senators, members of the House of Representatives, state Assembly members, and other notable political figures”,
“Our party respects its constitution and practices internal democracy” the statement added.
Hajjiya Amina Baba-Suzuki, the newly sworn-in chairperson of the APC France chapter, stated in her speech that Nigerians living abroad contribute to the country’s political and economic advancement.
However, she argued for increased backing for APC branches abroad, highlighting their function as mobilizers and advocates for Nigeria’s interests overseas.
Previous reports revealed that in last quarter of 2024, Sadiq Abdullahi, a Kano State lawmaker, and Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, co-sponsored a bill that would allow eligible citizens living abroad to cast ballots in elections run by Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission.
