President Bola Tinubu hosted three senators from Kebbi State on Friday at the Presidential Villa, who are reportedly finalising arrangements to defect to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
Senator Adamu Aliero, who represents Kebbi Central; Senator Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi, who represents Kebbi North; and Senator Garba Maidoki, who represents Kebbi South, are all important members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). They were all taken to the president’s office, where they met behind closed doors with APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
Among the other party stakeholders present at the brief meeting were Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; Mohammed Nasir Idris, Governor of Kebbi State; and Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, Governor of Sokoto State.
There has been a wave of defections from the PDP to the Tinubu led All Progressive Congress(APC).

Recall that recently, Governor of Delta State Sheriff Oborevwori shocked the country by defecting to the APC with other followers, after which several other PDP members joined the train including six PDP lawmakers in delta state.
Despite the president’s denials, there are growing concerns that the nation is moving into a one-party system.
