On Tuesday, six members of the Delta PDP defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives.
Representatives Nnamdi Ezechi, Jonathan Ukodiko, Nicholas Mutu, Thomas Ereyitomi, Julius Pondi, and Victor Nwokolo are among the lawmakers that have deserted.

Speaker Rep. Tajudeen Abbas welcomed them to the ruling APC after announcing their defection.
In their individual resignation letters, the defected members cited the PDP’s crisis as the reason of their defection.
Ezechi, who represents the Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, stated that he was left with no option but to join the APC in order to consolidate advances with the current Delta state governor.
Recall that Governor Oborevwori, the governor of Delta state along with his predecessor, former governor of the state, Ifeanyi Okowa had recently defected from PDP to the APC.
Additionally, Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency Representative Rep. Dennis Agbo also left the Labour Party due to party disputes.
Ikenga Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives representing Imo State’s Ideato Federal district, revealed that 40 MPs and two more state governors on the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) platform would soon resign from the party.
