Atiku: There’s no evidence Tinubu is ready to solve Nigeria’s problems
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that its lack of responsiveness to the struggles of Nigerians suggests it was unprepared for governance from the outset. Speaking through his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed disappointment that the government needed mass protests to realize the severity of the country’s challenges.
Atiku highlighted that the Tinubu administration, despite being elected to address existing issues, has exacerbated the problems inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure. He pointed out that under Buhari, the economy fell into recession twice, largely due to poor economic management, nepotism, and widespread corruption. However, Atiku argued that these issues have worsened under Tinubu, leading to deeper divisions and increased insecurity, which continues to prevent farmers from returning to their land.
He also criticized the handling of the Dangote Refinery, noting that despite the previous administration’s significant investment, the refinery has not yet met domestic demands or generated the anticipated foreign exchange through exports. Atiku questioned whether the current administration had entered into any agreements with foreign interests that could undermine this crucial investment.
Ultimately, Atiku expressed his concern that there is no indication that the Tinubu government is prepared to effectively address the nation’s pressing problems.
