The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has expressed high hopes in Nigeria’s betterment, stating that Nigerians have the ability to defeat corruption through shared effort, determination and strong devotion.
The EFCC boss expressed his optimism for Nigeria in a statement in Abuja on Sunday as part of his goodwill message to the Muslim faithfuls celebrating Eid-el-Fitr across the nation.
The EFCC Chairman said, “Tackling economic and financial crimes and other acts of corruption is achievable through courageous readiness and corporate commitments of Nigerians,
“Nigerians are stronger than corruption. No corrupt act can break our common resolve and determination. We have all it takes to confront and conquer economic and financial crimes.” he added.

He encouraged Muslims to embrace the lessons of Ramadan including discipline, sacrifice, love, and purity, urging them direct these vital lessons into a rekindled devotion to shun corruption and corrupt practices of any form.
The EFCC further added “I congratulate Muslims and charge them to allow lessons of self-denial, discipline, sacrifice, love and purity of the Ramadan season imbued in them greater readiness and commitment to shun corrupt practices.
“At Eid-el-Fitr, Allah’s benevolence and sacrifice are greatly magnified. May the lessons of love, peace, joy, and celebration of the festival abide in us and imbue in us a greater desire to reject corruption,”
The EFCC Chairman reiterated his faith in the nation’s ability to defeat corruption and further reassured Nigerians that the fight against corruption will continue.
Olukoyede added that the EFCC is advancing its efforts in tackling economic and financial crimes across the country.
