The official White House X account made the revelation, referencing a post by the President outlining the conditions and schedule of the deal.
President Trump disclosed in his remarks that the ceasefire will be implemented in stages, with Iran starting the peace process first, then Israel, with each party adhering to a 12-hour timetable.
He declared that the conflict would be formally declared over after a day of mutual observation.
“I want to congratulate everyone! Israel and Iran have absolutely agreed that there would be a complete and total truce for 12 hours after Israel and Iran have finished their ongoing, final operations. After that, the war will be deemed to be over. This ceasefire will take effect in about 6 hours!
Iran will formally begin the ceasefire, Israel will follow on the 12th hour, and the world will officially celebrate the end of the 12-day war on the 24th hour. The other side will maintain peace and respect at each ceasefire,” part of Trump’s quoted tweet stated.
The American president commended both nations for their “strength, bravery, and intelligence,” pointing out that the crisis was effectively de-escalated despite having the potential to rage for years and spread throughout the Middle East. He hailed the ceasefire as a significant success for peace and underlined that it was the result of leadership and diplomacy.

“As Iran has repeatedly made clear, Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around. As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations. However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”
Minutes later, he issued a follow-up confirming the halt of hostilities:
“The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4 a.m. Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute.”
