INEC extends voter registration deadline for Edo, Ondo guber to June 9.
INEC has extended the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) deadline in Edo and Ondo states by four days ahead of the upcoming governorship elections. The extension, approved following stakeholder appeals, runs from June 6th to June 9th, with daily registration hours extended to 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Additionally, more registration centers have been established, including all 36 Local Government offices in the states, with increased machine deployment in areas with specific needs. As of June 3rd, 120,458 new voters have registered, with the majority being youths. INEC urges eligible voters to utilize the extension for registration, emphasizing that no further extension will be granted.
