Kwankwaso: Wind of Change Will Blow in 2027
Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has boldly declared that a wind of change is set to sweep across Nigeria in the 2027 general elections. According to Kwankwaso, this impending change will chase out the bad leaders currently in power, and both security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be forced to act responsibly as the nation demands better leadership.
Kwankwaso made these remarks while addressing a gathering at his residence in Kano, where he welcomed several defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the NNPP fold. The event marked a significant moment for his party, as more Nigerians, particularly from the northern regions, are beginning to rally around the NNPP due to its strong reputation for people-oriented governance.
Winds of Change in 2027
Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the winds of political change are gathering momentum and will reshape the Nigerian political landscape come 2027. He reassured the new NNPP members that this movement is driven by a collective desire for better leadership and governance. The former Kano State governor emphasized that Nigerians are tired of enduring insecurity, poverty, hunger, and bad governance under the current administration.
“Nigerians, particularly in the northern regions, have suffered for too long under poor leadership,” Kwankwaso said. “No amount of pressure, intimidation, or deceit will stop the people from changing the status quo.”
INEC and Security Agencies Will Be Put to the Test
Kwankwaso’s speech also took aim at Nigeria’s security operatives and INEC, two institutions he believes are often manipulated to maintain the political status quo. He warned that as the winds of change blow, those who depend on the coercive powers of security forces or electoral manipulations will be left scrambling. “When the wind of change blows, you will see those who think they have security and INEC running helter-skelter,” he declared.
Kwankwaso’s confidence in the people’s power was clear, as he stated that Nigerians will not allow themselves to be deceived or oppressed any longer. Instead, they will stand firm in demanding their right to choose leaders who will improve their lives and address the nation’s challenges.
A Turning Point for the NNPP
The defection of APC members to the NNPP signals a significant shift in the political landscape of Kano State and possibly other northern states. The defectors cited the impressive, people-centric programs of the NNPP government in Kano as their main reason for switching allegiance. These programs have been well-received by the general public, as they focus on addressing the most pressing issues facing ordinary citizens.
Kwankwaso expressed joy and satisfaction at their decision to join the NNPP, noting that they had finally realized the importance of leaving the APC after witnessing firsthand the suffering caused by the ruling party. “I am happy that you have now realized the imperatives of leaving your former party after experiencing the unfortunate realities in the country—such as insecurity, poverty, hunger, and starvation,” Kwankwaso said.
He further emphasized that the NNPP remains the only political party with a viable plan to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges. He called on Nigerians across the country to join the movement for change and to support the NNPP in its mission to restore hope to the nation.
Defectors Praise NNPP Governance
Several of the defectors who spoke during the occasion commended the NNPP for its people-oriented programs in Kano State, highlighting how these initiatives are making a real difference in the lives of the people. They expressed confidence that the NNPP, under Kwankwaso’s leadership, is the only party capable of addressing Nigeria’s most pressing issues and lifting the country out of its current state of disarray.
