Minimum Wage Dispute: Some states still haven’t paid the ₦30,000

The Federal Government has deemed the demand for a ₦494,000 minimum wage by Organized Labour impossible, as some states have yet to pay the existing ₦30,000 wage. Labour Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, in a Channels Television interview, urged Organized Labour to end its strike disrupting economic activities. She noted that wage decisions involve the Federal Government, state governments, and the private sector, highlighting that many states struggle to meet the current wage. She warned that a ₦494,000 wage could lead to business closures and job losses, stressing the need for a realistic, sustainable wage agreement
