Billionaire senator and businessman, Ned Nwoko, has officially announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Nwoko announced this in a letter to the Ward 8 chairman in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, dated 30th January 2025.
In his letter, Ned Nwoko disclosed several reasons for his resignation, and the current PDP leadership crisis was not left out.
The contents of the letter from the lawmaker read; “My decision to resign is, first and foremost, due to the deep divisions and factionalization within the party.
“This fragmentation has made it increasingly difficult to foster unity and advance the collective interests of our people.
“Just this week, on 29th January, top party functionaries degenerated to the lowest levels by physically fighting among themselves, arising from the stated factions, which have become irreconcilable.
“I also deeply appreciate the platform the PDP provided me to contest the 2022/2023 senatorial election. It was an opportunity that allowed me to engage directly with the people of my constituency and present my vision for a brighter future.”
Ned Nwoko was elected as a senator in 2023, and he is also the husband of popular Nollywood celebrity Regina Daniels.
