PDP Slams Tinubu’s Response.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has harshly criticized President Bola Tinubu for his lack of response to the ongoing nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests. The party, through its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, has demanded that President Tinubu address the nation immediately.
The PDP’s statement highlights several key demands:
- Fuel Price Reduction: The party urges Tinubu to take urgent steps to lower petroleum prices, suggesting that with proper resource management, fuel prices should not exceed N200 per liter.
- Stabilize the Naira: The PDP calls for measures to curb the Naira’s devaluation and improve economic stability.
- Address Food Security: There is a call for improved food availability and economic measures to stimulate employment and economic growth.
- Investigate Violence: The PDP demands a thorough investigation into reports of security agencies and APC-affiliated thugs targeting protesters, urging the government to ensure professionalism in security operations.
- Recover Stolen Funds: The party also calls for the recovery of over N50 trillion reportedly misappropriated by APC leaders and suggests reallocation of recovered funds to essential services.
The PDP criticizes Tinubu for his silence, suggesting it signals government insensitivity and worsens public unrest. They urge Nigerians to continue pursuing a responsive and people-oriented government peacefully.
