Veteran actresses Hilda Dokubo and Ibinabo Fiberesima, both from Rivers State, have publicly condemned the current state of affairs in Rivers State following the declaration of a state of emergency by President Tinubu.
The veteran actresses expressed their strong disapproval of the ongoing incidents in the state, emphasizing that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is not the problem.
In two video clips now on social media, The veteran actresses Dokubo and Fiberesima, accompanied by other concerned women and mothers from the state, took to the streets of Port Harcourt to express their sadness.
The veteran actresses reaffirmed their support for Governor Fubara, stating that the current happenings in the state are unjust and demanding that peace and normalcy should to be restored
The veteran actresses highlighted some notable achievements of Governor Fubara, mentioning that he has addressed several long-neglected issues in the state. They appealed for calm and peace to be restored, allowing residents in the state to go about their daily lives.
“we found peace finally and then today you come out and see army people driving around like there is something going on that is wrong. This is not right.
“We are at peace, let our children, families be at peace. Let people go to work at peace. All these army people driving about, this is not right. Our governor is peaceful, we love him. Leave us in peace. What is all this. Emotions is done in politics, we agree but we want peace. Is it too much to ask? This is not fair, I moved back to this state, I ran away before.” She stated tearfully. See the video here
Dokubo said “Now you have crippled people, all we see is wii wii wii (police sirens), what for? Because of one man? I will say it over and over and over, what is going on is not Siminalayi Fubara. It is a comeback for the economic soul of Rivers state, somebody wants to grab the economic soul of Rivers state.
“The soul of Rivers state, for 24 years, they kept milking us, that was how all our money was flying over our heads. It is here today, it is there tomorrow, it is funding all kinds of foolishness.”
“This is the first time that civil servants have been paid thirteen months, every Christmas for 2 years they get paid, civil servants have been paid all their salaries. There are roads connecting to the Riverine communities. It has never happened. They told us, they lied to us that our terrain was too bad , now we know our terrain is not bad.
“He told us that we can have election here and it can be any way but no bloodshed, no gun shot and it happened here. Today you have told everybody to go and he says yes, you say go and resubmit budget , he writes, he says come and choose with me a befitting place so that I can present this budget, you made it impossible for him.
“He wrote, I am coming to you and you locked him out. He still wrote again to say I will still come again and you wrote to him to reply for insubordination or whatever and the next thing you do is this.”
