President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled his departure for a working visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
The president was scheduled to leave Abuja on Saturday first to France before heading to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France summit. According to a statement released on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special assistant on communication and strategy.
Onanuga, however, stated in a different statement published on X on Saturday that president Tinubu will now leave for the three-nation trip on Sunday rather than the earlier planned date.

The presidential spokesperson however, did not explain why he changed the departure date.
He said Tinubu will attend the summit, which is scheduled for May 11–12, to strengthen strategic alliances between France, Nigeria, and African nations.
Onanuga also said that after the conference in Kenya, the president will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum, scheduled for May 14–15.
