The lawmaker representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has released a video showing the House Deputy Spokesperson, Philip Agbese, signing an endorsement form for the position of Minority Leader of the Green Chamber.
In the footage released by Ugochinyere, reportedly recorded on May 21, 2026, Agbese was seen signing two separate documents.
This comes after Agbese, during Thursday’s plenary, raised a point of privilege, claiming that his signature was forged on a document nominating Ugochinyere for the Minority Leader position.
It was earlier reported that 61 members of the Minority Caucus had signed a nomination letter backing Ugochinyere, a member of the Action People’s Party (APP), for the leadership role.
Raising the matter on the floor of the House, Agbese denied endorsing the nomination, insisting that the document circulating online was not signed by him and that it violated his privilege as a lawmaker.
“I saw a document yesterday on the internet with my name reportedly nominating a member of this House for the post of Minority Leader,” he said.
However, Ugochinyere countered the claim by releasing the video evidence showing Agbese signing the endorsement form.
