A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jerry Gana, has stated that Peter Obi will defeat any opponent he faces in the North if he rejoins the party.
On Wednesday night, Gana made this statement while responding to enquiries on Arise TV’s Prime Time.
Despite holding multiple meetings with the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, Obi’s remarks are part of rumours that he may rejoin the PDP.
Gana’s statement coincidesz with Rufai’s statement that the PDP is currently in deliberations with Obi over plans to return to the party ahead of 2027.
According to Gana, Obi’s best bet of becoming president is to run under the PDP in the next general elections.
He said: “I’m a researcher, and I research opinions.
“In the northern states, Peter Obi under the PDP will defeat any candidate, because our people are very fair-minded.
“In 2031, it will be the turn of the North.
“Our people are very fair and we are building a nation.”
