Antony Escapes Prosecution in Brazil Amid Domestic Violence Probe”
Manchester United winger Antony recently avoided prosecution in Brazil over domestic violence allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin. The São Paulo Police concluded their investigation, citing insufficient evidence to indict the footballer. The case has now been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office, which will review the findings and decide whether to pursue formal charges.
Cavallin, a Brazilian DJ, accused Antony of domestic abuse in June 2023, providing photos and private messages as evidence. Despite the severity of the allegations, the investigation did not produce enough evidence for a prosecution. Throughout the process, Antony denied the accusations but faced suspensions from both the Brazilian national team and Manchester United. He was eventually reinstated into Manchester United’s squad in September 2023.
Antony later opened up about his struggles during the 2023/24 season, attributing them to the emotional toll of the allegations and the investigations. Despite the challenges, he continues to play for Manchester United as the legal situation unfolds. The decision by the Prosecutor’s Office will determine if any further legal action will be taken against him.
