The Red Devils announced when Ruben Amorim will formally take over the leadership left by Erik Ten Hag.
Manchester United has confirmed the official appointment of Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim as the Red Devils’ new coach, succeeding Erik Ten Hag.
The soon-to-be ex-Sporting CP boss will succeed the Dutch coach, seeking to turn the Red Devils’ fortunes around.
Manchester United announced when Amorim will join.
The Red Devils announced Amorim’s employment on social media, writing, “Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Head Coach of the Men’s First Team, subject to work visa requirements.”
They also clarified Amorim’s contract conditions and start date, stating, “He will join until June 2027, with a club option for an additional year once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club.”
“He will join Manchester United on Monday, November 11th.”
Red Devils are pleased for Amorim’s appointment Manchester United also voiced their enthusiasm for the hiring, stating, “Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football.”
“Highly accomplished as both an attacker and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portuguese with Sporting CP, the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years.”
According to Manchester United’s announcement, current interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in command until Amorim arrives, implying that the Dutchman will lead the Red Devils against Chelsea.
