Umaru Bago has cautioned All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates who secured House of Representatives and Senate tickets not to assume victory ahead of the general elections.
He made the remark in Minna on Tuesday night while congratulating party candidates shortly after the returning officer announced the results of the primaries.
Umaru Bago urged the flag bearers to reach out to other aspirants who stepped down, as well as those they contested against, in the spirit of unity and sportsmanship.

He stressed that such reconciliation efforts would help strengthen the party ahead of the polls, warning them not to celebrate prematurely as the real contest was still ahead.
The governor also commended the APC electoral committee for conducting a smooth and well-organised primary election for both the House of Representatives and Senate seats in Niger State.
He praised aspirants who embraced consensus arrangements, noting that their cooperation made the process easier and more peaceful.
Umaru Bago further appreciated party stakeholders and members for their dedication and teamwork, which he said contributed to the overall success of the exercise.
