Despite President Donald Trump’s repeated assertions that Iran’s nuclear intelligence has been destroyed, the U.S. military announced on Friday that the United States is offering a $20 million reward and potential relocation for information regarding the program.
A State Department programme, Rewards for Justice, “is offering a reward of up to $20 million and possible relocation for information about Iran’s nuclear program, including its facilities, equipment, and associated personnel, such as those in the scientific community,” US Central Command said in a statement posted on X.
The announcement instructs anyone with relevant intelligence to submit a tip through its official website to qualify for the reward.
The offer comes amid ongoing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran was enriching uranium to 60% purity in 2025—a technical step away from the 90% threshold required for weapons-grade material.
In June 2025, the United States and Israel conducted targeted strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure, concentrating on core development facilities.
Following the operation, Trump asserted that the targets were fully destroyed; however, subsequent intelligence assessments indicated the program was degraded rather than eradicated.
Seeking to permanently block Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, the United States and Israel launched a broader military offensive against Iran on February 28, 2026.
Backstory…
The US has maintained pressure on Iran over its nuclear programme for decades, accusing Tehran of pursuing capabilities that could eventually be used to develop nuclear weapons.
In separate development, the United States, South Korea, and Japan also recently reiterated their commitment to complete North Korea denuclearisation as Pyongyang continues to resist disarmament efforts ahead of potential talks with Washington.
