Speaking at the White House shortly after the incident, Donald Trump stated that the attack will not alter his stance on the conflict, which has been becoming worse over the past few weeks.
He said, “It’s not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran.”

“I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, I really don’t think so, based on what we know.”
He stated that while police were still investigating the attack’s motivation, preliminary results did not definitively connect it to the Iran War.
Additionally, Donald Trump implied that the suspect acted alone, characterising the assailant as a “lone wolf,” while emphasising that security services were still attempting to piece together the events.
BACKSTORY…
Security agents successfully evacuated Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday following an attempted attack by a gunman.
Officials disclosed that the gunman rushed to Secret Service checkpoint inside the Washington Hilton.
Law authorities say that at around 8:36 p.m., a lone suspect with a shotgun, a revolver, and several knives stormed into the hotel lobby area and tried to get past a Secret Service checkpoint.

Officials said at a late-night press briefing that the suspect had likely been a guest at the Washington Hilton, where the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, authorities have transported the suspect to a local hospital for evaluation, as he was not hit by gunfire. However, during the exchange, a Secret Service officer sustained a gunshot wound but survived because of his protective gear.
