Grammy-winning singer Tems has opened up on why she does not consider dating Nigerian male celebrities.
Speaking during an interview at the BET Awards over the weekend, the Love Me Jeje star said she sees her fellow Nigerian celebrities as family rather than potential romantic partners.
Responding to a question on whether she would make a move on trending Maduka Okoye if given the opportunity, Tems said their shared Nigerian background makes it difficult for her to view him in that way.
According to her, she relates to her male colleagues more like brothers and has no interest in pursuing romantic relationships within that circle.
“I know who Maduka Okoye is, but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here,” she said.
“We [Nigerian celebrities] are friends and family. I see my male colleagues as brothers.”
