PDP Crisis: Wike-backed PDP Faction Suspends Bode George, 23 others over ‘anti-party activities’

The Nyesom Wike backed faction of the PDP Capital has suspended Bode George and 23 party chieftains over alleged anti-party activities.

Chairman of the Lagos PDP disciplinary committee, Kayode Ogunbiyi  and Desmond Agho, the secretary, announced the suspension in a statement on Friday.

The committee also said it made the decision at its meeting on Tuesday, where it reviewed several petitions alleging “anti-party activities and deliberate breaches of the party’s constitution.”

Those affected by the suspension include; Aduke Maina, Abimbola Ogunkelu, Laja Adeoye, Tunji Shelle, Sunday Olaifa, Gbenga Adegbesan, Rita Orji, Kofoworola Bucknor, Onikepo Oshodi, and Idera Sodipo.

The list further includes Adedipe Ewenla, Bode Ogundipe, Aminu Suleiman, Roli George, Adetokunbo Pearse, Adeyemi Moyegun, Taiwo Kuye, Setonji Koshoedo, Muritala Ashorobi, Amos Fawole, and Olumuyiwa Richard.

The committee accused the suspended chieftains of working with other political parties to undermine the PDP’s objectives.

It also said the suspended members would no longer represent the party in any official or unofficial capacity or take part in party events in the state.

In addition, the party warned that any suspended member caught acting against its interests in the state could face legal action.

George, a member of the PDP board of trustees (BoT), has had a long-running battle with the Wike faction of the party, a dispute that culminated in his expulsion by the faction’s NEC last year.
