Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has described Nigeria’s current state of party politics as the weakest it has ever been.
Sam Amadi made the remark on Sunday during a live interview on Arise Television, where he discussed the conduct of primary elections by various political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sam Amadi said, “This is the worst we have seen in party organisational politics in Nigeria. In 2023, there were crises here and there, but it was not at this level.
“We used to go into primaries with clarity. PDP was PDP, APC was APC. We didn’t have the level of confusion we are witnessing now.

“The second issue is the shift toward direct primaries. There are two ways to interpret it. On one hand, it shows progress. No matter how flawed the process may be, at least there is a process.”
