Steven Ndukwu- Film-Maker, shades Nigerians after experiencing 5-hour power outage in America.
Nigerian filmmaker and content creator Steven Ndukwu recently criticized Nigerians for their ongoing complaints about power supply issues.

In a recent social media post, Steven recounted experiencing a five-hour power outage in Maryland, USA, following heavy rainfall. He noted that the electricity went out just 30 seconds after the rain began and remained off for five hours, yet he was surprised to see no one discussing it.
He wrote, “There was no electricity for five hours, but guess what? I didn’t see it on the news or social media. It was nowhere to be found.”

Steven contrasted this with Nigeria, suggesting that if a similar situation occurred there, it would dominate social media, with trending topics, angry posts, and sponsored hashtags.
He added, “It seems everyone is eager to be the first to share bad news, trusting social media to make it trend… The first step to improving Nigeria is to change the narrative in the media.”
However, many Nigerians took issue with his comments, reminding him that in America, power outages are not the norm, while in Nigeria, extended outages are common.
One user responded, “What you’re saying doesn’t make sense. In Nigeria, we’re accustomed to power being out for days, even weeks.”

Another commented, “We’ve been patient for over 60 years. Don’t compare Nigeria to a functioning country.”
While some agreed with Steven’s call for a change in perspective, many felt he was out of touch with the realities faced by Nigerians.
