Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, has directed a comprehensive investigation into alleged extortion by some officers of the command stationed along the Osi-Eruku highway in the Kwara South Senatorial District.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, in Ilorin, the police confirmed awareness of a viral video circulating on social media, which accused officers on duty along the Osi-Eruku road in Ekiti Local Government Area of engaging in extortion.
”The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, has ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident.
“If the officers involved have been identified and found guilty, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”
”The Command remains committed to upholding professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all its operations,” the spokesperson added.
