The recent airstrikes in North West Nigeria by United States military have been commended by US Congressman Riley Moore as a decisive step to address the country’s ongoing security crisis and safeguard Christian communities.
The attacks, which were coordinated with the Nigerian government, were “just the first step to ending the slaughter of Christians and the security crisis affecting all Nigerians,” according to Moore, who spoke on Friday via his X handle.
“President Trump has been clear that the killing of Christians in Nigeria must end.
“As I stated at the outset: Do not test President Trump‘s resolve in this matter,” the congressman added.

The remarks followed allegations that US forces in North West Nigeria had conducted out airstrikes against terrorist cells connected to ISIS under President Donald Trump’s orders. United States Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth stated in a different article that Washington acted with Nigeria’s assistance.
“The President was clear last month: the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria (and elsewhere) must end. The Department of War is always ready…Grateful for Nigerian government support & cooperation,” Hegseth wrote.

The strikes were a part of organised security collaboration with foreign partners to fight terrorism and violent extremism, according to the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Recall that Moore recently concluded off an extremely unsettling fact-finding mission in Nigeria to look into claims of attacks on Christian communities.
He met IDPs, terrorist attack survivors, Christian leaders, and traditional leaders in Benue State while leading a five-person congressional delegation.

Additionally, the team met with Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi and National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu.
Speaking on Fox News, Moore described the violence as intentional targeting of Christians and described horrific incidents, such as a woman who lost five children while pregnant and another who lost her husband, two daughters, and her unborn child.
