In a statement on Thursday in Osogbo, party chairman Pastor Victor Akande said the confirmation followed the completion of all documentation and submission processes with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which now officially lists Adeleke as the Accord Party’s candidate.

Akande described the development as a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the upcoming election.

“We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into the records of INEC as the Accord Party’s candidate,” Akande said.

The party noted that the confirmation had addressed questions surrounding its nomination process ahead of the 2026 governorship contest scheduled by INEC.

Akande stated that the party viewed the development as an affirmation of its compliance with electoral guidelines and procedures governing candidate nominations.

“The confirmation by INEC is an affirmation that the nomination process has been duly concluded in line with the requirements of the law,” the Accord chairman said.

He also acknowledged the support received by the party and its candidate from residents and members across the state since the commencement of preparations for the election.

He called on residents of voting age to ensure they were registered with INEC and had obtained their Permanent Voter Cards in readiness for the August 8, 2026 election.
