Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has shared that his father was strongly against his decision to pursue a music career.

In a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the “Sungba” hitmaker revealed that their relationship became strained after his father opposed his choice.
He explained that he ultimately went against his father’s wishes, leaving home to follow his passion for music.
“My dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now but my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless,” he said.
Recalls that in March 2025, Asake’s father, Fatai Odunsi, made headlines after he accused the singer of neglect and abandonment.
Following the heavy backlash, him and his father reconciled, with the singer taking responsibility for his dad’s welfare.
