The Lagos State Police Command has commenced activities marking the 2026 National Police Day with a statewide sanitation exercise and a free medical outreach for residents in Ikeja.

According to a statement by Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the programme began on Monday, March 30, 2026, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai.
As part of the kickoff activities, officers carried out clean-up operations across fourteen Area Commands in Lagos, while a medical outreach programme was held at Computer Village in Ikeja.
The outreach provided free medical check-ups and other health services, including health talks, medical counselling, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) testing, Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) testing, eye examinations, retroviral screening (RVS), and free drug administration.
The exercise drew participation from residents and passers-by in the area, many of whom benefited from the free services.

The action shows the commitment of the Nigeria Force to community engagement, public health, and environmental sustainability while also strengthening the relationship between the police and the public.
“The initiative underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to community engagement, public health, and environmental sustainability, while strengthening the bond between the police and the citizens they serve,” the statement said.
Residents who took part in the exercise commended the Command for bringing healthcare services closer to the people.
The Command restated its commitment to service, partnership, and people-centred policing as activities lined up for the National Day continue.
