The factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafiu Bala Gombe, has criticised the faction led by former Senate President David Mark over his alleged suspension from the party.

Speaking with journalists on Friday, Gombe insisted that the faction lacks the authority to carry out disciplinary actions within the party.
Nafiu added that the issue is already before a court of law, stressing that legal proceedings are ongoing.
It would be recalled that the David Mark-led ADC faction had earlier announced the expulsion of Gombe and a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide.

Reacting to the development, Gombe maintained that the suspension is invalid, saying, “The David Mark-led faction does not have any power to suspend me. The matter is still in court.”
The ADC has recently been embroiled in internal leadership disputes, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also removing David Mark’s name from its records as the party’s national chairman amid the ongoing crisis.
