FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has said that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, does not have the capacity to deliver Rivers State to the ADC, in the 2027 general elections.
Wike made his bold assertions on Friday while during a media chat with reporters in Abuja.
He further highlighted previous elections where Amaechi, despite his influence within the APC, failed to secure electoral wins in Rivers state.

The minister also recalled the 2015 and 2019 elections, noting that the APC perform well in the state despite federal support as Director-General of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential campaign.
Additionally, Nyesom Wike argued that Rivers state is still politically resistant to such predictions.
He further claimed that he won the state’s governorship elections in spite of what he called “federal might” used in previous elections.

Wike said, “Are we saying today, if an election is conducted in Rivers state today, that Rotimi Amaechi will deliver Rivers state to ADC?
“Remember, he was a governor. When I came to run as governor, he was in the APC. Who defeated him? And he was the DG of the campaign then.
“Remember, in 2019, when I was running for my second term, he was the minister of transportation and was the DG of Buhari’s campaign.”

Wike further questioned ADC’s chances on a national level, pointing out that the party’s national head, former Senate President David Mark, is unable to win Benue, his home state.
