A 30-year-old man identified as Elisha Abbas Saku, has been gruesomely murdered in Plateau State.
Bandits suspected to be Fulani militias ambushed and killed Elisha at Riwhie-Chwo in Nzharuvo community, Miango District of Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
In a message posted on social media on Friday night, Joseph Yonkpa, the National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM), confirmed the incident.
He stated that the attack happened on Thursday night at approximately 10 p.m., when the gunmen stormed the community and killed Saku while injuring other residents.
“Yesterday (Thursday) night, 16th April, 2026, gunmen ambushed and beheaded Mr. Elisha Abbas Saku, 30 years old, at Riwhie-Chwo, Nzharuvo, Miango District of Bassa LGA, Plateau State.
“May his soul rest in peace, and may God comfort the entire Irigwe Nation,” Yokpa said, while praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
