Controversial street-pop artiste Portable has alleged that the outcome of his celebrity boxing match against streamer Carter Efe was pre-planned by organisers to avoid paying out a massive betting sum.
The singer made the claim while reacting to widespread online mockery from celebrities following his defeat.
Reports indicate that Carter Efe defeated Portable in a celebrity boxing event held in Lagos on Friday, securing a ₦50 million cash prize. He was declared winner after judges scored the bout 30–27 in his favour.
Following the result, several Nigerian celebrities ridiculed Portable, especially given his earlier confidence and verbal exchanges leading up to the fight.
In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Portable alleged that the organisers deliberately awarded Carter Efe the victory to prevent paying out an estimated ₦23 billion tied to bets placed on his own victory.
He also claimed he had already been paid ₦40 million before the fight, along with additional earnings from promotional posts ahead of the event, insisting the total arrangement included staged elements.
Portable further expressed frustration over the match outcome, accusing the referee of unfair decisions and describing the punches he received as biased. He maintained that even if he had won, the betting payouts would have been too large for organisers to cover.
He added that he played a key role in popularising celebrity boxing in Nigeria and referenced previous exhibition wins against Speed Darlington and Charles Okocha in 2025.
As of now, organisers have not publicly responded to his allegations.
