Controversial street-pop singer Portable has survived a lone accident just hours before the naming ceremony of his newborn baby.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday night in Ogun State after the singer experienced brake failure while driving.
Sharing his experience in a video posted on Instagram, Portable explained that he had to drive his car into a ditch to avoid crashing into another vehicle.
“My fans, help me thank God. I was driving out this evening when the accident happened. Nothing happened to me, I came out safe. I suddenly realised the car brake failed,” Portable said.
The singer added that he was grateful the situation did not turn fatal, especially with his son’s naming ceremony around the corner.
Portable had earlier announced plans for the ceremony and even distributed free ankara aso ebi materials to celebrate the arrival of his newborn with his wife, Bewaji.
The couple welcomed their baby shortly after Portable’s celebrity boxing match with Carter Efe on May 1, 2026.
