Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi as the new General Manager of Lagos State Television following the departure of the former General Manager, Mrs. Sola Kosoko.
The appointment letter was presented to Oyekanmi by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, during a brief ceremony at the State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja.
Speaking during the presentation, Agoro stated that Oyekanmi’s appointment was a reflection of his professionalism, dedication, and years of meritorious service within the Lagos State civil service.

He expressed confidence in the new General Manager’s capacity to reposition the state-owned television station and wished him a successful tenure in office.
Prior to the appointment, Oyekanmi served as Director of the Strategy Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, a position he had held since 2022.
With over three decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, Oyekanmi has built a strong career in advertising, public relations, media communication, and export services.
He joined the Lagos State public service on March 1, 2000, as a Public Affairs Practitioner in the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
An indigene of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Oyekanmi has earned several accolades for his contributions to journalism and public communication.
Academically, he holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Education from Lagos State University.
He is also affiliated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
Outside his professional responsibilities, Oyekanmi is known for his passion for reading and lawn tennis, and currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club.
