Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos Mainland Local Government Area have endorsed Senator Wasiu Eshilokun as the party’s consensus candidate for the Lagos Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wasiu Eshilokun, who currently represents Lagos Central in the Senate, was affirmed during the APC senatorial primary held at Evans Square, Ebute Metta, Lagos.
The exercise recorded a large turnout of party supporters, with security operatives deployed to ensure order and a peaceful conduct of the process.
Addressing party members, the APC Electoral Officer for Lagos Mainland, Adisa Gbangbala, commended participants for their peaceful conduct throughout the primary.
He explained that Wasiu Eshilokun’s emergence as the consensus candidate followed wide consultations and agreement among key stakeholders and party members within the local government area.
Gbangbala also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusive leadership and continued delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Speaking at the event, APC House of Representatives candidate for Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Kazeem Omolaja, described the strong support for Eshilokun as a reflection of the senator’s acceptance and popularity within the party.
Omolaja, who recently won the party’s House of Representatives primary, expressed appreciation to party members for their continued confidence in APC leadership.
He noted that the turnout demonstrated solidarity and trust in the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The senatorial primary was conducted peacefully, with leaders and supporters expressing optimism about the APC’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.
