Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid has set a new record by becoming the first African artiste to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.
The milestone was announced on Tuesday by music chart platform ChartsAfrica.
In a post shared on X, ChartsAfrica celebrated Wizkid’s achievement, describing him as a global superstar and highlighting his dominance on the streaming platform.
“First African artist to reach each milestone in Spotify history. Wizkid becomes the first African artiste ever to cross 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits,” the platform stated.
The achievement comes just days after the release of Wizkid’s collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind, which dropped on May 15, 2026.
The track reportedly earned over 685,000 global streams on Spotify within its first 24 hours.
