Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State have called on aggrieved aspirants from the party’s recently concluded primaries to maintain peace and work together ahead of the general elections.

The appeal was made by Ahmed Umar Faruk, Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency and founder of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity (TKG), in a statement released on Monday.

Faruk stressed that unity and harmony within the party are crucial for victory in the upcoming elections, urging unsuccessful aspirants to avoid actions or statements capable of creating division within the APC.

He warned party members against conduct that could weaken the party’s chances at the polls, emphasizing that the collective interest of the APC should come before personal ambitions.

According to him, loyalty to the party and commitment to securing electoral victory must remain the common goal for all members and stakeholders.

Faruk also cautioned against the alleged use of social media supporters and influencers to launch attacks on fellow APC candidates, describing such behaviour as unhealthy and damaging to party unity.

Speaking further, he highlighted the strategic importance of Kebbi Central Senatorial District, describing it as the political stronghold of the state due to its voting strength and influence on political outcomes.

The group additionally expressed concern over the APC National Assembly ticket for the Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency, warning that losing the seat could negatively impact the party’s future electoral prospects, including Governor Nasir Idris’s re-election chances.
