Socio-political commentator Sam Amadi has stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) conducted the most credible primary elections, attributing this to the party’s structured leadership system.
Amadi, who described most political party primaries as “flawed and fraudulent,” ranked the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a close second in terms of organization.
In a post on his official X handle, he argued that apart from the ADC and APC, other parties performed poorly in their primary processes.
According to him, the ADC has so far set the standard for well-organized primaries in the current electoral cycle, praising its leadership for being structured and efficient.
Amadi described the APC primaries as “bold and ambitious, but also reckless and fraudulent,” adding that while they showed some level of coherence, they still had significant shortcomings.
Amadi further stated that any party not mentioned in his assessment had conducted what he considered poorly organized or “joke-like” primaries.

He emphasized that credible direct primaries require clear rules, strong systems, and proper membership verification processes, warning that without these, the process cannot be effective.
He also suggested that primaries should not be conducted in a single day, but rather spread over weeks or months to ensure fairness and credibility.
Amadi, who is known to support the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential hopeful Peter Obi, added that the NDC is currently conducting its own primary elections nationwide.
