Alabo Dumo Lulu-Briggs has been declared the winner of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship primary election in Rivers State.
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant emerged unopposed in the exercise, which was held on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that no other aspirant participated in the contest, as the exercise was conducted across all local government areas in the state.
After his emergence, Dumo Lulu-Briggs expressed appreciation to the party for the confidence placed in him, describing the process as peaceful and smooth.
He is now expected to contest the governorship election against the recently elected All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Kingsley Chinda.
Chinda, a known ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, secured the APC ticket after the incumbent governor, Siminalayi Fubara, withdrew from the race.
