President Bola Tinubu has reflected on the challenges and sacrifices he faced on his path to becoming Nigeria’s President.
Tinubu made the remarks on Friday while receiving members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, during a Sallah homage at his residence in Lagos.
The President expressed gratitude to several governors who supported him from the beginning of his political journey, commending their loyalty, patience, and resilience throughout the process.
Speaking on the difficulties he encountered, Tinubu said he chose to confront the challenges directly rather than avoid them.
According to him, the journey to the presidency was demanding not only for him but also for those who stood by him during the period.
He acknowledged that many of his supporters remained steadfast and continued to believe in his ambition despite the uncertainties and pressures surrounding the campaign.
Tinubu also revealed that he personally took the decision to push ahead with his presidential campaign without fully revealing his strategy to others at the time.
He thanked the governors and party loyalists who took political risks alongside him because of their belief in the party and its vision.
