Nigerian music star, Davido, has sparked reactions online following a heated exchange with a social media user over the current state of the country.
The drama began after Davido shared a post expressing concern about the worsening situation in Nigeria, admitting that entertainers, including himself, have not done enough to speak up on issues affecting citizens.
“I can’t lie, we entertainers… we dey mess up, including me. We need to speak up. There’s too much injustice going on. Our country don suffer,” Davido wrote.
Reacting to the post, a social media user identified as Princess Luna questioned the singer’s sincerity, accusing him of being pretentious.
“Na God go punish you and your family. Go and do that performative rubbish in your City Boys group chat and stop deceiving Nigerians,” she wrote.

In response, Davido denied being affiliated with any political group and defended his stance on national issues.
“I’m not part of any City Boy group. When I spoke against the government on American media, people still insulted me.
“I’ve known ST for years and that’s all. I complain to him about the country all the time, even privately.
“God punish your generation,” the singer fired back.
